Not feeling well and still deliver the goods. You're a bit like Pau in the Pepsi gig. Well you have your reward with the Toronto ticket. The concert is already sold out. You and your husband date ☺♥ are one of the choosen ones. Well well well the song Burnout. When people give negative comments I read a lot: it's not rock, it's pop. May I remind everybody that DPA have listen to many different pop genres and it was and is clear that they will always use those elements in their songwriting. To me TW is an explorative band, because they have the ability to use a wide range of styles into their songs. To limit them into only a hardrock/metal genre would be harmfully wrong because they are way more than that. It's still very much ok to not like the song but probably someones individual expectations differ from what the DPA-DNA has always been. Also the comments on AdL is really interesting. DPA decide what music they make not AdL. Up till now to me, the KmF-songs have a strong Musy-direction with all kinds of delicate (Automatic Sun: the vocal harmonies → Motown, the guitar at end Sabbath/Soundgarden) sidesteps. I'm also from the school of Sly Stone, James Brown and Parliament-Funkadelic. The funk and groove in Burnout in combination with the vocal harmonies and the constant flow in the song is SENSATIONAL. Joel Roadie called this a simple song. I think it's quite the opposite. To catch all these elements in the live performance will be a challenge. I would like to go back to Error and the remarks of David Bendeth of them not grooving enough an not being 'in time' as a band. To me this song is a celebration of what DB meant. I said it a number of times in the past that Ale's way of playing reminded me of James Jamerson. Now she has added a funky groovy layer in her playing and combines that technically into a Musisch industrial direction. The rythmic combination of Ale and Pau is getting better and better. At this moment they are around their 20s. It's frightning how good they will be in 10 years from now. I'm team Pau and I can only say one word descibing Paulina: tears. She touches the deepest emotions, but having said that I would sell Dany short. The development as a singer Dany has shown is incredible. I already was convinced about her guitar compositions, but her combination of better technical singing and sublime delivery of the songs now is up their with very the best. Her leadership and commanding the stage is impressive. In a 4 gig stint I saw the second (Köln) and fourth (Haarlem) gig. Often the last night a voice is getting tired. Not Dany's. Her constant vocal quality in the past Euro-tour shows how good she's become. By the way the tour-closer in London was the best gig up till now I've seen from them and their Equipo, because let's be honest without Carlos, Lalo and the others this band would not sound that good live. To end on the happiest note: Da Vince has the Mona Lisa, TW has the Moni Ale☺.

I hated it at first. Thought this was this their worst ever. But the drumming is great and Ale is immense.

It gets better everytime you hear it. They have more than earned the right to make some fun songs that are more slow paced with a solid funk groove. Just listen to the complexity of the instrumentation in this song. It's genius.

This song comes over time. And then it sticks in your head and joins the the EarWormArmy 😀

First of all: I wish u & family a speedy recovery, Second of all: it's a lot easier to critique music than writing/arranging/playing music. However my take is this is The Warning's natural foray into different other modalities of Rock, in the case of ”Burnout” Funk, this is funky AS. I personally loved the groovy beatz Paulina lays down on this track, I think the haters hate that they think it's a diss song they even compared it to Taylor Swift's Pop which I don't get ¯⁠\⁠_⁠ʘ⁠‿⁠ʘ⁠_⁠/⁠¯ Nothing pop about this song.

This one is growing on me but not my fave. Toronto show is already sold out. Will they upgrade to a bigger venue?

I was excited after the little teaser. For me, the song as a whole is more of a filler in the album. I like it so far, but it's not in the same league as HYCAD or Automatic Sun. But if this remains the weakest song on the album for me, it will be a hell of a ride at the end of June. And it's still a song that can play on a loop for an hour for me. And like you said, live can be taken a step further here.

You seem to be right about Burnout being a break, it should be the 8th song in their 12-song 4th album. Based on a few corroborating sources. This should be the tracks for the songs they have released this far: 2 - S!ck 4 - Qué Más Quieres 5 - More 8 - Burnout 10 - Hell You Call A Dream 12 - Automatic Sun

It’s not my favourite from the album so far….. but, that had to happen. And if I heard this song randomly from a band I didn’t know, I’d be really intrigued and want to check them out more! I think I just said that The Warning’s “lesser” songs are still better than anyone else!!

I wasn’t sure I how I felt when I first heard it. Instantly loved the bridge but wanted an extra gear to the song. In the end though it’s been a total earworm since so I can’t complain I guess. I do like it, it’s not my fav single but I think it will work well in the album.

I think I'm spoiled by HYCAD and Automatic Sun. This one seems it's a few levels below those two songs. That heavy high end bass sounds just like Royal Blood. Have you ever reacted to Royal Blood? Listen to Oblivion by Royal Blood and you'll see what I mean.

My first thought was that it might be the first TW song I would put into the "I don't like it" category. But, I felt like I might have been a little biased by the IG snippet they released a few days ago, so I gave it a second listen with a blank slate outlook. I can now say that I do like it, it's certainly another good earworm. I do like the chorus a lot, however the beat and funk groove just isn't what I look for in a rock song. It would be pretty far down the ranking list of their songs for me, but I think it's still a good song. The bar is so high with them that even the songs I like a little less are still really good.

Honestly, I dislike it more every time I hear it. It feels like more pop than rock to me. But it’s cool, they can do whatever they want. It’s their music. The exception being the bass, Ale is killing it.

It’s a vibe and has a great groove to it. It fits more along the side of MORE on the album, I think it has a chance to pop live with certain crowds; would work in clubs too. There’s quite a bit of space on the track I feel for Dany to just be singing and getting a party going live. Hope you and Eden feel better soon 💙

Beyond the funky rhythm, someone somewhere commented that the central part of the guitar sounds like King Crimson, from the 1979 album Discipline, although at first I had not detected it, I feel that it sounds more like In The Court of Crimson King by 1969

The first listen I thought ok its good but after the 2nd or especially the 3rd time through liked it even more.

It'll grow on you, each listen reveals more ear candy! They write tremendous catchy as hell choruses!

Hey sick lady! First, I hope you and the little one are well soon. Okay, now onto the song . . . At first listen, I didn't like it at all. BUT, I thought that, lyrically, it was great. (IF Pau wrote ALL of the lyrics, is this her disgusted, dismissive scathing rebuke of someone in the form of an "Animosity Chapter 2"?) I thought that the bass lines were extremely unpredictable and somewhat intricate but sound deceptively simplistic in their smooth flow. Make sense? What I initially didn't like is another use of track distortion overall. I guess what I'm most apprehensive about is that the rest of the album's songs will have it, too. At this point, I'm starting to experience what I can only think to define as "Distortion Fatigue". My ears are tired of hearing it. So far, this and Que' Ma's Quieres are my least favorite of the new songs. While the whole new album might generally be really, really good songwriting-wise, the continual, smothering use of distortion will be my main complaint. Although he would never say out loud either way, I can't help but wonder what the girls' legendary "ERROR" album producer, David Bendeth thinks of the production of this album so far.

Grunge meets Taylor Swift - this would be a pop song if not for the fuzzy heavy guitars. I agree with Ashlena, this song will probably sound much better live.

It took me a second listen too, but now I'm hooked - it sneaks up on you. btw, my naughter and son in law and I were talking this evening about going in costume for the concert since it's the day before Halloween. Also - I preordered the picture vinyl and I'm so stocked about it.

I wasn't sure what to think about this one on first listen. Kind of funky, a bit punk, rock, and something I'm not sure how to describe. Pau's drums are not what I would have expected and I really appreciate that. They seem deceptively complex and are refreshingly different than the typical rock drumming. Pau is really trying out some different stylistic choices in her drum lines on this album. The same can be said for the baselines. I think you are exactly right though, this is a song that will truly come alive when it is played live on stage. I like it, but it is missing something, and that something is the expressiveness and subtle touches that they will give this on stage. Sadly the cost of flying to TO for the Oct 30th show was out of my reach again this year, but I look forward to your play by play afterwards. ⚡
